I don't think it'll take that long!

So you know 7 billion people?

I can equally say all my friends use D.D. and that's because they do. "my friends all use physical media" isn't really a good argument.

No, not 7 billion. But in a city that offers 30gbps internet, less than half of my city has internet over 10gbps. I have met a lot of people. Also, over 60,000,000 U.S. citizens that I do not know use physical media excluding movies and music carried on discs (About 5% of my family is on this as well), to include all of my family and over 200,000,000 U.S. citizens, include physical discs that carry movies and music.

Well, when 2015 comes around, we'll see how progress is.

I have about 300 optical discs in my house, I use my optical drive about once every 3-4 months. Just because many have optical discs doesn't mean they would all use optical drives in their computers often, or even occasionally.

Why are we even talking about this though, optical drives still work fine with Macs and OS X.
