Neo wasn't changing time, his reaction speeds were just very quick. When he stopped bullets he was just changing the rules of the program. Interestingly enough though, computer simulations work often work off of simulated time, if you lie to a program about its time, or parts of a program, you can alter motion or other effects based on time. Long story short, if the matrix is a program that can be hacked, you could lie to the bullet simulation about time changes to make them stop moving. Regardless, the Matrix was a simulation, actual time was not changing, at most it was just how time was being handled by the simulation.

Posting on an iPad sucks. I meant to make a new post and instead somehow overwrote the post you quoted. Anyhow, yea I'd love to talk to a quantum physicist as well. I'm only a couple of miles from CU, maybe I can just walk onto campus and wave my arms and say I have questions about entanglement? tongue.gif

My dad is a physicist, but after he got his degree he went into another field relatively soon, I doubt he's well versed on any physics discoveries in the last 25 years.

If the particle was vibrating at 440hz then both particles would be producing the same note At the same time. So same would apply to a human voice. Speech is just formulated variations in vibrations. So each particle would have the same output at the same moment.

In typing on my phone as well so it's is increasingly difficult to work with on this mobile browser.

We got into time travel based on general relativity today in astronomy. I think my favorite part was when we got into the problem of forward time travel around an infinite mass (black hole) being irreversible, then I brought up the idea of a negative mass. The only problem with such a mass is that it's completely theoretical. Next to that, knowing that black holes are at the end of the universe already was pretty cool.

Also, no I didn't bother reading the source. The minute I saw quantum entanglement I knew what was up, and when I saw this general relativity stuff above, I knew we'd been derailed.

Traveling into the future, a little sooner, is not so amazing.

I prefer to think of time travel into the future in a different way.
Instead of "time traveling into the future", people (and clocks) on the ISS just slowed down a little.
While on the ISS, the astronauts are simply moving a little slower (compared to people on Earth).
Although the ISS itself is moving quite fast.

More useful for current communications. Would be great for daily computers, cell phones, and the internet in general. OH and space travel- like it says it takes 22min to get a control signal to mars.. wWAYYY to slow for a stock market to run on mars, which explains why we haven't colonized it yet.

As far as I understand it, due to the how time and space works - if you want to send information faster than light you will need to time travel. Ofc in spacetime event can be simultaneous also only and only if the happen in the same spot in the spacetime. And ofc you will also break causality by doing that, meaning the effect can happen before the cause, say, a explosion before detonation so to say.

They would both be vibrating at the same rate. 440 vibrations per second. The "second" is what is different for each party.

Maybe it'd be better worded as 440 vibrations per Earth-second, so it'd vibrate at about 16Khz on the ship if it was vibrating at 440Hz on Earth, and yet, those would be the same rate. If the Earth observer could see the particle on the ship they'd see it vibrating at 440Hz.

That isn't time travel...that would be just escaping time so to speak. Sit in something moving at the speed of light and your perception of time will supposedly change. Though that is one theory I would love to see get some evidence on. I mean a flash of light from a star releases some radiation in the form of light. That light takes five million years to reach earth. When you see the light...the light is five million years old. It did not escape time. It has not some how only been in existence for 30 hours. If the light could some how pop back to its source and look at it as it flew by at the speed of light it would see its source aged five million years. The light has been around and observable for five million years. I mean, I've seen the math behind it, but it just doesn't fit with any common sense.
