Memtest86+ Stuck at Pass 100% Stock Settings

Thread Starter
Been running Memtest86+ with G.Skill Sniper 2x4gb 1600mhz ram for about 90 minutes and it has passed the first pass with no errors, but the second pass seems to be stuck at Pass100% even though it continues to run each test and list no errors.

Whole system is stock and the program was downloaded with stock clocks to prevent any data being corrupted even if the chance of that is small. Also reformatted the drive prior to this. Is this just a bad set of ram or something common?

Edit: I should note this is with a Z77 board, Maximus V Gene, and I've read the code for memtest doesn't play too well with anything past P67 since it hasn't been updated for over a year (source 9th post). I've gotten my 3770k 24 hour custom blend stable @ 4.5ghz and it hasn't BSOD'ed beyond too low of a voltage.

Also, what's with the reported 75 BCLK in memtest? eh-smiley.gif

No, does not appear to be a bad set of RAMs. Are you having some system problems?

Memtest86+ (aka DOS Memtest) is not very consistent on modern platforms, I've noticed that sometimes I'd just hang or not open for no apparent reason. Try repeating the test and see what happens.

It eventually errored once, so I rechecked my ram settings and it was set to 1T while G.Skill recommends 2T on their site. I can't imagine that would cause any errors. I'm in the process of another test so I guess I'll see if that would do it.

The main reason I'm doing this was because I just built a new PC and I wanted to know if the ram was stable. Perhaps I should've done it before I finished overclocking since I have no idea if the BSODs I got while doing it could cause any problems during memtest86+.

It's been running for about 6 hours and an error popped up a few hours ago. Seems to fail on the 8th test each time. Also, the failing address is always a number above 4096mb so I suspect the second module is bad. Guess I'll swap the ram in each dimm slot and try both separate. Wish this shot off more errors faster, so it'd be a quicker set of tests. :-/

Edit: Could it be the fact that Asus doesn't have this ram listed under supported ram? Seems like its identical but low voltage sniper brother is listed.

if you running correct Memtest86+/rated timings and voltage and it fails (gives you hard error/s) i would send it back/get replacement
