Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2012 Edition - Page 14

Bought it. Installed and raced for a while. Ended up getting a sound loop, no BSOD, just freezing and had to restart the comp.. Was quite fun to play. I also noticed that the game uses all of the cores, which is nice I guess. smile.gif

Yes. tongue.gif

I've seen a couple reports that the handling is better in the 360 version? Can anyone who has played both confirm?

I use the 360 controller and the cars handle just fine for me. smile.gif

A tad on the heavy side, though after countless hours of Hot Pursuit, it hardly took me any time to get used to it.

Same here.

Handles similarly to HP2010 which made it easy to transition.

Not the greatest handling, but passable for an arcade racer.

Ive got a logitec dual action and it seems to work fine. It would be nice to have sensitivity adjustment but it works (I do notice a bit of controller lag though, not sure if its the controller or the game).

After beating Forza Horizon (far better game, but I digress), I decided to revisit this. I'm starting to like it. Few things for people who hated it as much as I did initially:

1. Use a controller. Obviously.
2. Do the 30fps cap mentioned earlier in the thread. Yes, we shouldn't have to do that in the first place, but it makes the game run so much smoother.
3. Turn off motion blur. I can't see more than five feet in front of me with it on.
4. Try to avoid looking at the mini-map during races. I may be in the minority, but I tend to look at it a lot in games, to determine when to brake for sharp corners. It's not really necessary in this game.
5. Keep accelerate held down. You can make damn near any corner by braking and drifting without letting off the gas.
6. If you crash, don't get flustered and start over. A full nitrous on a straightaway will almost always put you back in first place.
7. On that note, save your nitrous for when you're behind. Using it when you're ahead won't do much good. Yay rubber band physics.
8. Try to avoid the Hard races early on. They're marked Hard for a reason. Drive around a bit to find other cars and do races with them.

That's all I've got. I'd still rank it below most NFS games, but it's growing on me. If you shelved it like I did, give it another go.

I heard someplace it don't support Xfire or SLi. Rather or not it will be patched in I doubt it. EA has a history of cashing in and splitting on PC mad.gif

I can easily max the game on a single card anyway so I'm not worried if they add it in or not.
