They're doing this probably from pressure now that Megaupload is going to come back. Especially from all the press Megaupload has gotten this year, RS is just trying to make news. Personally, this is great, more high speed choices for file sharing is great. Now make it extremely easy to upload and then email that link without creating a free account and they'll have a winner. There's been times when I just need to upload something very quickly and email it to myself when I am at an insecure system.

Rapid used to be my favorite until they imposed download limits per day, then data caps per month. I wonder how far back to the good old days they're willing to go to get the customers back.

They've banned all major pirate uploaders. People bought RS to download faster from these uploaders. Since there are no more files to actually download, people won't buy.

No data caps for Rapidshare now. Been like that for a while.
They lowered the speed because they were the only one being used right after megaupload went under now that putlocker repidgator etc... have their servers filled with pirated stuff uploaders are using them more and rapidshare can free up some bandwidth to attract traffic again. biggrin.gif
