Initial jump is about 350-400KB/s but instantly drops and steadys around 50-70K then random jumps to 800K and then back down to 50-70K...tried 4-5 different files

That's inconvenient and backwards in today's standards. I have a SkyDrive and I upload all my work tools and progs there. Whenever I need something when I'm not home I just hop online and download whatever I need.

There is, of course, the issue of reliability, like when the servers are down. I set my USB thumb drive to sync with my SkyDrive every time I plug it in, just in case the Cloud is down.

Because uploaders don't upload for kicks and giggles. They do it to make money, and mediafire doesn't pay. That's why there are some absolutely terribad hosts out there that uploaders flock to.

I remember seeing something i wanted to download really, REALLY badly on mediafire once in a blue moon, and i would almost tear up in excitement, that someone uploaded it to mediafire. Instant download at maximum speed. Felt so god damn good.
