Nope bigadv is limited to 12-16+ core machines now, deadlines are pretty short.

I think the best setup for PPD right now is V7 in linux. Youll have to ask around for the best flags to use though.

Glad you joined thumb.gif

Like silvr mentioned, theres no bigbigadv core hack anymore, so 2500k/2600k has to do normal SMP and hope for the best. You can still get up to 70,000ppd though on a 2600k, its just luck of the draw with what Wu you get.

You need either vmware player, ubuntu v10.10 to run v7 client, or if you have linus as an OS use that and then install the V7 client. If you have vmware player opened with ubuntu 10.10 installed, put this code in:
Code:
mkdir fahv7; cd fahv7; wget --no-check-certificate https://fah-web.stanford.edu/file-releases/beta/release/fahclient/ubuntu-10.10-64bit/v7.1/fahclient_7.1.52-64bit-release.tar.bz2; tar -jxvf *.tar.bz2; rm *.tar*; mv fahclient_7.1.52-64bit-release v7; cd v7; ./FAHClient --configure; ./FAHClient

It will download and install V7 client, then all you need to do is change it to smp4.

Im gonna try install native linux on my second folding rig that is due to be built very soon in anticipation for the TC, the idfference in numbers between vmware player/windows 7 and native linux is huge.

I bumped my PPD up on my 2500k from ~26k PPD to the occasional 48k. thumb.gif

Very luck of the draw though, right now.

I signed up. After the bionic I'll switch over my other 3770k. Hope to get some good WU instead of grinding those 8049's. thumb.gif

Sweet! Me too, im hoping for some 7027 Wus they get me just over 60,000ppd. I hope I can spend an afternoon free and get my pc to dual boot with linux, ill just leave it folding for a week then. Linux adds like over 20% folding performance its crazy.
