The Phenoms are strong CPU's and it wouldn't be much of a upgrade if at all. Go atleast FX-6300 or dont upgrade CPU at all. Put that money towards an SSD. thumb.gif

You could wait haswell should be good, but if your only gaming it would be a waste of money. Any current Gen AMD cpu can get ya there. I would concentrate on some upgrades to other areas of your rig. Ram, SSD, and maybe more storage. Once you lock that down then Id focus on new motherboard and CPU.

Depends on what you use your rig for. That Phenom is more than capable for gaming with a 7850.

Those will be nice upgrades. Just make sure your board supports sata 3.

What's your current screen? That would be the first thing to upgrade, then SSD if you have spare $$. RAM I wouldn't bother you have DDR3 already. I am gaming at 1080 and don't feel there is a bottleneck - the GPU runs at 100% in almost everything and I believe it is weaker than a 7850. Bump up the 840 a little bit if you notice any CPU bottleneck
