because the flow of the water through your loop happens so fast, that the temperature increase after it passes through each component is less than 1 degree celcius.

No, what I was trying to say is that you dont need to alternate radiator -block - radiator- block. because temps really dont change so much.

I think it take something along the lines of 240w of energy to change waters temperature up 1 degree(i cba to find the formula and do the math right now). so the loop order doesnt really matter, you just want the shortest loop possible.

I know that this is jaheermk's thread. However, this information helps me quite a bit. I was wondering how the blocks would be affected if the water was running through it at a consistently high rate. I could see it in my mind, but couldn't really understand it. So, it doesn't really matter if the CPU and GPU are connected together?

Like others have said, alternating block/radiator won't make a huge difference temp wise, but if you wanted to anyway you could always do something like this
res/pump>rad>gpu>rad>cpu

So guys do you think I should get the extra 240mm rad? I have looked and gone throw a lot of resurch and althought not many people do have 2 rads some do. That's I'd why added the extra one as I thought it would make a difference but if that difference is only going to be 1-2c lower then yeah, it does make sence not to but it. So looks like I won't be buying one now. I will keep you all updated for when I place by order on Sunday night.

I think a single 360 would be fine for what you want to cool, as long as you aren't going for any crazy overclocks. You could just get a nicer 360 radiator, like a Black Ice or an RX360. I initially had a single 480 rad when I was cooling a cpu and gpu and temps were fine. I only added the second radiator when I added the second gpu, and temps stayed about the same.

the other reason I was going to get the extra 240 rad was i am not able to fit a thick 360 rad in the top so to make up for it i was going to add a 60mm at the bottom. as the 360 rad will only be 40-45mm thick.
and the overclocks are only going to be hitting 4.6 on a 3770k.
