Backup options

Thread Starter
I know this is probably a stupid question, but I just don't know anything about it. I am about to do a clean install of Windows 8, but have a TB of movies and tv shows, music, and pictures that I don't want to lose. I don't want to upgrade, so was wondering what were the best options for saving them?

I have a 640gb as my primary, and a 1.5tb under that. Is there some way I can store what I need on the 1.5tb, then install Windows 8 on the 640, and add the 1.5tb back in or something? If not, i would really appreciate any other suggestions, Thanks a lot!

640GB for OS
1.5TB for random data on top of your 640Gb
Then a 2TB+ for backup
