Xonar Essence One - Piece of JUNK

I am having a problem with my Essence one. I just got it today and the background noise I am getting with the headphones jack is terrible. If I turn the dials up to 12 o' clock or higher I get a lot of white noise, almost to the point of where I can here it over the music. Worst then that, I can even hear some electrical noise. Keep in mind this is only with with just the power cord plugged in as well as my hd 800's and nothing else. Absolutely sickening. 600 dollar metal paper weight with what sounds like a 10 dollar headphone amp.

I also updated all the firmware to the latest revisions.

Any ideas what could be causing this? I never had this problem with my Xonar Essence STX.

Please help, I am about to throw this metal brick against a wall

I would return it, you should not be acceptable for a product like that.
Just make sure everything is setup first because it could be something painfully obvious.

As mentioned I Don't even have it plugged into a PC, just the power plug and my headphones. It literally sounds like onboard audio on a motherboard with no EMI Sheild. Its simply disgusting.

I'll phone Asus tomorrow I guess.

That definitely sounds like you'd be entitled to an RMA, but if you are still within the return/exchange period with the retailer that you bought it from, you should go through them first.
