HD 7870 will perform very well in all games at 1080p. Most games like BF3 you can play at max settings. very close to GTX 580 performance .

not much. Most games when maxed out are entirely GPU limited.

not anymore. with the 12.11 drivers it's much faster than a gtx 580 (the 7870 is the card that had the most performance increase out of all the GCN cards). it has more vram too and will consume less power

I wouldn't say "much" if anything where it was bottlenecked from the drivers makes it 1:1 with a 580.

get the HD 7870. the price difference is not much when compared to HD 7850. The Gigabyte HD 7870 (1.1 Ghz) is one of the best cards. very good windforce 3x cooler.
