Unsure about new router

Thread Starter
I´ll be moving soon and when I do that Ill let my roommate keep my old netgear WN2000RPT router.
So im looking for a new one, ive found two that seems good and within my price range.
Its either ASUS RT-N56U or ASUS RT-N65U, I cant seem to find details what is different between these two.
Which one should I get ? or is there a better choice?

my budget is about 120$

-edit-
Seems like the N65 is running hot, so tends to shut down and what not, least thats what ppl say on newegg.
then I looked at TP-LINK TL-WDR4300http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833704136&Tpk=TP-LINK%20TL-WDR4300since I had great reviews on danish sites, but very negative comments on newegg. And just looked up my old netgear WN2000RPT on newegg too, also abysmall comments and ratings. Are people just very negative on newegg review sections?
:S so still as confused as befor to what I should get.

Desktop (gigabit)?
Asus (2.4ghz or 5.8ghz wireless?)
Sgs 2 (Same question as asus)
Tv (Same question as asus)
PS3 is G (2.4GHz) (So far slowest device on your network)

the controller on the mainbord in desktop is a Intel® 82579, 1 x Gigabit LAN Controller, in the datasheet for it it say, The 82579 only runs at 1250 Mb/s speed,
the laptop has a Atheros AR9485WB-EG Wireless Network Adapter. It supports B/G/N networks but only at 2.4GHz
tv can do both.
phone supports both too.

The 1250Mbits is 1 Gigabit.

Desktop (GigaBit)
Laptop (2.4GHZ)
Phone/TV (5.8GHZ)

Best solution is router with dual band and gigabit
2.4GHZ For just the laptop
and 5.8GHz for everything else.

And the router you suggested. No. Get one with external antenna.

Get the ASUS N56U, Its a solid router. As far as reviews go, the range of it is comparable to a Cell Tower tongue.gif

http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless/wireless-reviews/31436-asus-rt-n56u-black-diamond-dual-band-gigabit-wireless-n-router-reviewed

The range and throughput are ridiculously fast as stated in the review!

Go with it. thumb.gif
