Engadget and The Verge recently released their reviews, which weren't as positive as I was hoping. Engadget said that the battery life was poor and the performance wasn't as good as hoped (though they said these weren't true for the Optimus G which shares the same internals, so a software update would hopefully fix those), whilst The Verge said that the screen looked a little washed out.

I'm not so sure about getting it now. frown.gif

Ditto, might chill with my S3 till I read some user reviews after the 13th.

I commute a lot and just looking at people's phones, I see about 3 LG phones a year. Maybe the low price has to do with the OEM's lack of popularity in various markets.

Well, to be honest I don't care too much which company the hardware's coming from, as long as it's not going to break in 10 days and have a rubbish returns policy or anything. The SoC is from Qualcomm anyway, LG are supposed to make good screens and the actual body/casing looks to be well designed besides the fact that it's easy to shatter (though I try my best to take good care of my phones anyway). You're right that LG smartphones aren't at all popular, but personally I wouldn't let that fact alone put me off buying one.

I wouldn't get the nexus 4 if I were you. If you wanted to try to "pure" google experience you should install Cyanogenmod 10 and see how it is. I honestly think it's amazing, the customization is great and you aren't running some launcher on top of everything. Also your battery life will improve significantly since it underclocks it when the cpu isn't being fully utilized. You have an awesome phone and running a stable rom will make it that much better.

I had no idea M$ owned microSD patents, it all makes sense now..

That aside, I'm hesitant to buy the N4 as I carry all my music on my phone [plug it on car, home system, etc] and I have over 16GB on it [~200 additional GBs on home server].. The 3g network here is awful, streaming becomes stressful when you just want to listen to your music and it gets stuck every 2 minutes..

I heard the usb port work both ways tho, and you can actually plug an external drive if you need to..

If you have an S3, I'd say stick to it. Nexus 4 may have "better" or similar specifications, but the S3 clearly has more features. wink.gif

So much to consider. Not as one sided as I originally thought. I might just buy one, test it out for a few weeks and see where that leaves me. It's not a huge amount of money if it's not what I expected. Then on to the Nexus 10 afterwards!

This is a good idea too, or check out AOKP as both are similar but slightly different takes on the idea. I've been using AOKP for a while now and just thought I'd give CM10 a go - it's also a great ROM, for sure (wasn't so sure about CM9, incidentally).

From what I hear it completely depends on whereabouts you live. Apparently T-Mobile's HSPA+ network can give very good speeds, not sure about AT&T's. But I think overall, there's more LTE coverage and most of the time the LTE will be faster than HSPA+ anyway. Don't hold me to any of that though, I don't live in the US so everything I know about the networks over there comes from articles I read and people I speak to, I've not personal experience.

That one always works, it just involves spending money that you won't get all of back tongue.gif

Remember to keep us updated if you do get one!
