I honestly think it's amazing, the customization is great and you aren't running some launcher on top of everything. This is a good idea too, or check out AOKP as both are similar but slightly different takes on the idea. I've been using AOKP for a while now and just thought I'd give CM10 a go - it's also a great ROM, for sure (wasn't so sure about CM9, incidentally).

From what I hear it completely depends on whereabouts you live. Apparently T-Mobile's HSPA+ network can give very good speeds, not sure about AT&T's. But I think overall, there's more LTE coverage and most of the time the LTE will be faster than HSPA+ anyway. Don't hold me to any of that though, I don't live in the US so everything I know about the networks over there comes from articles I read and people I speak to, I've not personal experience.
