Bonus points for GPUs - Page 2

I am currently building two folding rigs, a 3way GTX 660 (2700k), and I got those cards for $205 (+tax). I wanted to do 570 classys but they sold out....mad.gif , and a SLI 660 (3770k)

I took a gamble on the 660's hoping something like this may put them ahead of the 560 or even 570 in the PPD department.

I have tow 580s folding right now, keeping my room nice and warm, Is there a way you have to set up the clients to see these kinds of PPD returns? I am fairly new to folding, so this kinda of confuses me.

Right now unless you get that one WU, they aren't all that great. Sadly I haven't gotten one yet, but once I do, I'll let you know.

Ah, I was wondering what had happened.

From my understanding (read that as I didn't look in to this much), they are working on a new method of benchmarking all WU's the same way rather than have the separate stream of SMP, Nvidia GPU, and AMD GPU if I'm not mistaken. This means adding the QRB to all WU's in the future.

I have yet to hear if this will also apply to AMD GPU WU's in the future and how the points will be adjusted.

Except the issue - according to [H] - is that the current beta WU is not an SMP WU converted for use by GPUs. Instead, it seems to be an old GPU3 WU, that has had its base points and bonus factor increased to bring it in line with 4p production. Which doesn't quite equate to equal points for equal work.

Now, I've been out of the picture for a while, so I have no idea how much of this is accurate, which is why I want you lot to look into it. :P

Also, no, this won't apply to AMD GPUs as I understand it.

Since you've already looked in to it more than I have, I'm okay with you continuing to research this for me. Still an odd-ball WU unit though in terms of points. I can't seeing it being intentional to bring a GPU's points in line with a 4P system though.

1) Yeah, no, I'm leaving now.

2) Like I said, this has been in internal testing with PG for some time now - IIRC, Vijay mentioned QRB for GPUs being planned well over a year ago. It'd be a pretty big oversight to bring GPU PPD this much higher.
