Asrock extreme 3 gen3 windows 8 - Page 2

Ok so I partitioned the mechanical drive, installed a preview copy of windows 8. I did not use any of the Asrock drivers. So far audio is fine. At first the windows took a while to drag. I installed the latest Amd CCC drivers 12.10. Now everything is fine. Problem is, I don't really know how to use this OS lol. So also its not as slow as you describe its as fast as windows 7 was when I had it on the Mechanical drive. I'm guessing it will be faster on the SSD.

I'm going to keep messing with it and see if I get used to it.

Update: Installed windows 8 on a partition of my SSD. Runs a lot faster than on the mechanical drive. Seems like I have no issues with the Asrock board. I didn't install any Asrock drivers. Windows auto detected everything. Only things I installed was the Amd drivers. So far everything is fine and fast. I just wonder about setting up my profile since I never used a Windows live ID since like 7th grade lol. I really don't need the messaging and people section of it as I don't use MSN messenger any more. I don't really like that about it.

Glad it worked out for. I had high hopes for Win 8, but *sigh*, for me, it was a waste of my time. I can't wait to reinstall back to Win7; just have too many projects right now - I will try to do a vid though, just to show how bad the repaint of Win 8 windows are - all little flashed, and black space that quickly gets repainted.

Yeah I ended up buying the upgrade for 40 bucks and will be doing a clean install. All my user files are on the 1tb hd so all I need to do is point the new windows 8 user folders to the 2nd hd and I should have access to all programs and downloads like I did in windows 7.
