Asus PB278Q left with the default brightness @90/100=280cdm/2 vs CrossOver 2720MDP @ 28/100 setting= 120cdm/2 luminance

I got brightness at 0 now and theres still noticable glow.

Edit heck now I even put contrast at 0, still glowing biggrin.gif

i have ips and s-pva monitors and the blacks on the hp lp2465 (s-pva) is the best (the worst overalll of the 4 monitors i have). blacks are even better than on the zr30w (ips). it [pva] has the worst whites. zr30w is just as bad in whites. and both the ips and pva have noticeably blurry text [to me]. it's also a power hogger and releases a lot of heat. the only thing it takes #1 place is in the blacks. with a black background (in light) it looks off. all [my] monitors have some sort of glow in a dark room.

(Do you see the pathway to the very left? Oh sorry you dont...)

Cant play games that are a bit dark, neither can I properly watch movies without that cloud of glow!

Funny thing, received my LG IPS277L yesterday, my first IPS panel. Mine too has excessive IPS glow at the left bottom area and with wider diffusion than yours, it's very noticeable to my eyes, years of using just plain black wallpaper at the desktop you see, lol...

There is IPS glow coming from the other three corners but they are just not noticeable and i am ok with that.

But even with the brightness down to 20 i can clearly see it (still referring only to the bottom left corner) when playing movies and on desktop which makes me sad...

Already arranged to replace it with a new one via the LG dealer (hurray for the 2 years on site warranty)...

Hope the next one will not be so bad or at least so asymmetric...

(yeah, of course the new one could be even worse or have dead pixels so i'll keep "rotating" till i get a decent one, lol)
