70-80c is pretty normal for 4.6-4.8 at below 1.3v on water, for IB.

Yes this seems more like it then, these guys just run warmer due to the smaller dye and the lid stuff. I think you can push it further easily, but you will see some higher temps once you get into the 1.3v area which will more than likely be needed for 5.0. I would say you have a golden chip if you can do 5.0 at less then 1.3v. I dont think it is worth pushing that kind of heat though.

I fully agree and its not gonna hit 5ghz stable without breaking 1.3vc since im at 1.28vc for 4.8ghz.

Have you ever even overclocked your 3570k? If you think you only need slightly more than 1.3v to get 5ghz, you are insane... http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2562083 5.1ghz 1.528v to get it to even be stable enough to validate. It was on a mitx motherboard, and I had to overclock the cpu inside of windows, because I cant ever get my computer to boot into windows running ~1.44v or more.

Once you get to 4.7ghz, you have to severely start bumping the volts for each 100mhz gain.

I didn't say you are lying, it is just very uncommon for the 3570k to clock so well, with great temps like that. That's all. Or maybe I haven't come across many rolleyes.gif

Well this was all hypothetical and we are talking golden chips here, there are some IB that hit 5.0 below 1.3v but are rare. I personally havent taken my chip past 4.6 just from the temps i have seen at 1.248v.

Well, you said you were having a hard time believing it so I wasnt sure what you were implying. I guess its above the norm for clocks and temps then which is fine by me. smile.gif
