I have a little bit of head room, but Im sticking to my 4140mhz clock, its a GREAT overclock and im going to see no difference out of another 60mhz...which I cannot get stable anyways, i refuse to set the vcore over 1.5 in the bios.

it depends on the CPU architecture. Large FFT was better in the past and Small-FFT became much more intensive on Sandy Bridge (and Ivy). I am not sure what is hardest on Bulldozer and Piledriver, but I thought Large-FFT was more stressful on Phenom II still. Either way, you should be stable in all 3 modes, but I *think* large produces the most heat on your 965

Temperatures are fine though so nothing should be throttling.
And you are right, that is a great overclock for a Phenom II, its the very upper range of the average OC on that processor.

Either way you want load to fluctuate on the chip to test it thoroughly. It is no point stressing one part of it to the max, doesn't mean its stable.

That's why people blend test, because the load changes and stresses the whole chip. That's why I also like OCCT, it changes the load percentage to see how the chip copes between varying load changes.

So if blend test is fine and passes, and its fine for everyday use it seems stable. That is a very good OC for that chip thumb.gif Are you using air cooler like in your description? If so, that's an especially good OC biggrin.gif
