It's been a big week for Microsoft Corp. (MSFT). On Friday Windows 8 and the Surface tablet launched. And on Monday Windows Phone 8 enjoyed a global launch. And just like that, the world got a taste of Microsoft's all-inclusive next-generation platform.

Following yesterday's WP8 excitement, a new commercial for the smartphone OS has popped up on YouTube, narrated by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.

Steve uses an HTC. "And this is my Windows Phone". I don't think anything else needs to be said at this moment regarding their strategy towards Nokia.


Edit: I'm not sure if this should be in the Hardware of Software news section. On the one hand it is about Windows Phone 8 (software) but also about a particular Windows Phone device, so I think it's a toss-up where this thread should go. Since the Official Youtube video (above) has the following title "Meet Steve. See his Windows Phone " and the fact it's an HTC instead of a Nokia, I think putting this under Hardware news can be justified. Mods, as usual, move it in case you think otherwise. Thanks.
