7600GS or 7600GT? (AGP)

So this FX 5200 just needs to be replaced. It's holiday season, and the money I thought I'd have for the Conroe upgrade isn't really around. I need to upgrade this video card, it's having major problems keeping up in performance on new games and to be honest the graphical quality sucks.

My options are limited now, basically the 7600GS, 7600GT or 7800GS. The 7800GS is still way more than I'm willing to spend on an AGP card (cheapest ones are still in the $300+ CAD range). So it's between the XFX 7600GS 256MB at $160, or the Leadtek 7600GT 256MB at $204.

My main question is should I push for the extra $40 for the GT? Is it really that much better or will I be satisfied enough with the GS? Obviously I know both cards aren't going to get me stellar performance, but if the GT is *that* much better I'll push for the extra $40 or so.

Oh and then my other question, is the X1600 Pro even comparable to either the 7600GS or GT? I can get it for actually a bit less, and if its as good as either of them I'll go for it instead. Somehow I'm doubting it is, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Thanks.

Personally, if this is just a "Band-Aid" to get you by for a while before a new build, stick with the 7600GS. If you want to hold on to this for more than a year or so as a primary gaming machine, get the best one you can afford.

When my video card went bad, I wound up going to PCIe and an x2 (because its awesome).

XFX 7600GS is enough. I got mine for only $120, overclock like mad with VF700 (520/1080 vs 400/800 stock).

Thanks... I kinda figured (and was hoping) to get replies like this. I slapped my friend's BFG 6600GT OC into my rig a couple of months ago and gave some games a play. It was very nice and I was happy with the performance... so as long as the 7600GS can provide me with at least that level of performance, I'll be happy.

I'll know by the end of this weekend if he's buying it or not. If he doesn't buy it, would you like it for $220 shipped?
