I’d like to know if the copper heat transfer plates on the krakens are the same specs as the copper plates on the rest of the Asetek re-badged products. If they are, then I can't see how the larger radiator would help any.
The finish on the stock Asetek heat transfer plate is slightly convex. This can be felt when applying the plate on a flat surface like a window or mirror (this goes for both 620 and 920). From the pics, it looks like the krakens are the same.
Also, the Stock Asetek plates are heat transfer limited. This is clearly evident with the 920 when monitoring temps. There is a VERY significant difference in performance after sanding a mm off the surface of the heat transfer plate to a flat finish.
Again, I'm wondering if NZXT/Asestek tackled these issues with the krakkens or if they used the same specs as the rest of the Re-badged products.
