Installing C compiler Win8

So i have installed miniGW but i dont seem to be able to compile anything

Anyone else had this problem

BTW encase you did not see in the title, i am using Win8

Did you add the mingw bin directory to your Windows PATH environment variable?

No and i have done this before but i cant remember how,
ill google it but if you could tell me how would be handy

Here's a link for adding the OpenJDK directory to a Windows 8 PATH...just add the mingw /bin directory instead...
