The same thing happened in regards to performance last gen too, GTA III ran like crap on most machines (To be fair it was extremely innovative for 2001), GTA VC (Here, GTA V) had some of the engine updates and optimization fixes and the benefit of not pushing the bar as far as the previous one, SA ran great for most people because Rockstar was experienced with the engine, I predict GTA V will run okay on most rigs and GTA VI or whatever the next one is will run great.

Guys, I know Rockstar is't a money hungry gaming company like others, but this could be a tactic to get more money.

Some PC gamers are going to get a console version around release date, then they'll also get the PC version when it comes out later. I did that with GTA IV, own it for both PS3 and PC.

If I had a choice, I'd just get the PC version, but I just can't wait months. You know how hard it would be for me to see GTA 5 videos going around on the internet after release date and I don't have the game?

How is Rockstar not a money hungry company? They are one of the worst devs to work for in the industry. Unless things have changed in the last two years which I doubt they treat their employees as bad as anyone. Specifically by allowing them to work in some cases literally twice what they are supposed to for sub-standard pay.

I'd much rather be at EA even then Rockstar.

There are a lot more potential buyers, but as you said it, it is immpossible to know exact number, but you must understand that currently there isn't 133.9 million console online, a lot are "dead". While there is more gaming machine than 54 millions.
Anyway that is whole another story.
I'm still sad, because this is sad story from R*, but true one. I hoped this time will be different, but I guess weather tricked me.

And if you look at Take-Two's financial results, you can see that the PC sales are growing.

You can see that the XBOX 360 is the big seller, but the PC and PS3 are getting closer...

Sorry for double post, can't edit with my work laptop. Still wonder why!!!

Even if doesn't change anything at all, looking at TakeTwo financial result from July and October, we can guess that GTA V was delayed. They were expecting a 2$ net income per share for 2013 fiscal year since it was announced in 2011. Now they are expecting 0.20$

And hopefully, they surprise us with a PC release maximum a month after console release...biggrin.gif

Actually it was fairly well known on GTAForums that Sony had a deal with Rockstar for 6 month exclusivity, I've been a member there since 2004, otherwise we'd have likely gotten all 3 at once.

I'm honestly considering getting it on 360 anyway; it'll be just as fun as I don't really notice the graphics quality difference, but I will get it on PC once it's out for that.
