[GS] Rockstar Has Nothing "to Share About a PC Version at This Time" in Regards to GTA V - Page 24  

consoles level the playing field and distills the performance of a gamer down to the core skill of the person playing (internet connection not withstanding). pc gamers can't have that since it would invalidate the hundreds and thousands of dollars spent on better pc components.

I have PS3 so I don't care that it won't be coming for pc at least for a while. GTA IV was way better on consoles than on pc so I'm more than happy to play GTA V on PS3. Releasing on consoles will make them a lot more income since pc pirates won't be downloading shiat

Umm, thats GTA IV with texture packs... nice try though.
Going to Saints Row, no disappointment on releases there, always a PC version. Granted number 3 wasnt great, but having a texture pack and mission pack for everything in SR3 in SR2 is more amazing anyhow.

It'll open doors for better developers who can tap into the PC platforms huge potential. Then, naturally, you'll see Rockstar and any other AAA developer come running back for a piece of the pie.


I for one have no intent on giving these money grabbing game developers my money, and i couldn't care much for GTA V considering there is no announced release for the better gaming platform; PC. Rockstar have little regard for the PC gamers who made them the success they are today. I'd also wager that even IF a PC port made it over, it would be just that - a port, and probably a poor one at that just like GTA IV. Rockstar have shown repeatedly where their loyalties lie. A game like GTA V should not be written for 6+ year old tech, and should take full advantage of current technology.

In the meantime, i have plenty of other great titles to look forward to, some of which are featured on Kickstarter with huge backing and donations. There are the odd few "big name" developers whome i still have respect for, even if, nowadays, it's a list that gets smaller. (Valve, Bethesda, CD Projekt, etc)

I believe that in time, the PC platform will see an explosion in popularity from both gamers and innovative games. Just not right now.

If you seriously think GTA V is better on consoles, you're just downright ignorant and have no idea how much better a dedicated PC version is, not just in graphical candy but also in mods and a modding community, which in turn, aids in further profit and success of any game. It's the best form of advertisement there is - ENB got alot of attention with it's first GTA IV release.

This is a sad day for me.

Was really hoping to play some good old San Andreas on the PC.

1: False statement. You have the XIM Edge you can use for all games as well as the PS3 itself for a good chunk of games. Oh and other 3rd party controllers.
3: Being lazy is not really a good thing.
4: That is not a bad thing. It's more of a neutral thing than anything else.

Also, the console versions tend to be more "expensive" mostly because of larger profit margin. The less demand, the lower the price. One of the reason why Steam has so many deals, they do not have as many people as the consoles do, so they have to have sales to make some sort of profit.
