Pretty much all games run on console. It looks like you don't have a lot of choices when it comes to game then.

If you design software around console hardware and scale it to PC hardware rather than the other way around, the product will undoubtedly be inferior. Am I not expressing the views of %95 of OCN? Agreed, I stated it in a way that sounded entirely ignorant. lol

What? PC market is way bigger than console, but not every PC is gaming machine nor gamer. You really couldn't be more wrong on thin one. It was quite stupid to read this sentence on PC forums. I would understand if someone wrote it in GTAForums.

I'm open new games that might follow this pattern and prove me wrong, but so far, this theory proved true.
I've grown up playing GTA1/2, used to love the top-down view shooters because of it. It was innovative, interesting, kept you glued on the chair - gta IV presents a really open world with thousands of stores, buildings and only 10% of those are accessible. The world needs to be more dynamic.
While GTA IV is fun and entertaining for a couple of hours, the game gets stale soon.
As for GTA V (if it does come out on PC), I'm not expecting anything big or groundbreaking, just another money-leeching title.

I must say: the PC version of Dead Space 2 was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful port. Gorgeous graphics. Gorgeous. (especially with SweetFX and SMAA)

RDR looked amazing, I think I would have rather played that than GTA4. GTA4 was alright but forgettable overall, not like San Andreas, that was an epic game.

I meant PC gaming market tongue.gif

As of March 2012, 63.9 million PS3s have sold and and as of Sept 2012 70 million XBOX 360s have sold. That means there is a potential sales of up to 133.9 million sales of GTA V. I know that many copies won't be bought because some people have multiple consoles, some people have dead consoles and some people just don't have an interest in these sorts of games. But if we compare it to PC (as you know it's very difficult to get the total number of gaming PCs, so I will just use Steam) as of Aug 2012 there are 54 million active users for Steam. I do know that some people have multiple accounts, some people won't be interested in getting GTA V and not every PC gamer uses Steam. But if you do the math

133.9 million potential sales for consoles vs 54 million potential sales for PC.

Yeah, but you must know that 133.9 is just that, there is no more, while 54 is ONLY Steam. There are a lot more potential buyers, but as you said it, it is immpossible to know exact number, but you must understand that currently there isn't 133.9 million console online, a lot are "dead". While there is more gaming machine than 54 millions.
Anyway that is whole another story.

I'm still sad, because this is sad story from R*, but true one. I hoped this time will be different, but I guess weather tricked me.

If it doesn't come to PC then oh well. I am not going to be locked to 30fps with extreme dips, 720p or under, and some blur to cover up the jags.

Expect to wait at least a full year before it comes to PC and even if it comes, it will be horribly optimized.

I'm sorry bro but there's no way Sony and Microsoft are paying to keep the game off PC. If it was exclusive to either the PS3 or 360 you might be onto something but if what you said was the case this would be the first example of that ever happening.

Their older titles still do sell on PC though but that's during sales though. The thing with console market is that sales hit a flatline after 3-4 months after the release date. Whereas, the PC when games go on sales, developers do make a decent chunk from them even years after they are released. Otherwise, they wouldn't be having the sale in the first place. RDR not being ported to PC, they must have a valid reason behind it. Perhaps the platform didn't demand such a game at the time or the fact that GTA5,la-noire and MP3 must have come in the way(time constraints)? You know how big those games are, and they take a lot of man hours. There was also the fact that La-noire studio was shut-down despite being a great game. Also like Brutuz said, MS/Sony must have paid heaps for exclusivity

Like I said there is no way Sony and Microsoft are paying for exclusivity. Absolutely no way.

People need to understand that Sony and Microsoft simply don't care about PC. The only moneyhatting that goes on is towards each other. Microsoft for example pays for timed exclusives all the time but only in relation to the PS3 version.

I'm not saying they are; that doesn't mean Rockstar isn't doing it to keep the console makers happy, etc, I was saying that's what happened with every GTA port so far; III, VC and SA all were unannounced for PC and Xbox until they were nearly out and that remains true of even the PSP ones going to PS2 and with GTA IV as well, we won't hear about GTA V PC until 6 months later with release 12 months after it comes out for console.

The same thing happened in regards to performance last gen too, GTA III ran like crap on most machines (To be fair it was extremely innovative for 2001), GTA VC (Here, GTA V) had some of the engine updates and optimization fixes and the benefit of not pushing the bar as far as the previous one, SA ran great for most people because Rockstar was experienced with the engine, I predict GTA V will run okay on most rigs and GTA VI or whatever the next one is will run great.
