receiving subscription notification emails.. when they're turned off.

  • started receiving email notifications when anyone would reply to a thread I was subscribed to. This option is not check marked in my account prefs. The only option I have checked it's when people message me. I have since turned off all notifications to stop this from occurring.

  • no action expected.




  • windows 7, any browser, gmail account.

Same here.  I have my default subscription mode to Site Only and I never go in and manually change any of my subscription types for any thread whatsoever.  Yet, every once in a while now I get an e-mail update for a thread I'm subscribed to when it receives a reply.

 

I can stop the e-mail notifications by resetting the subscription to Site Only, but sometimes it will go back to the e-mail notification.

It's like advanced alien technology! :)

Randomly started happening to me a week or two ago. I changed all my threads to site only subscriptions and if I post in them again, they revert back to e-mail subscriptions. I have my profile set to subscribe me on site only when I post in them. I disabled all e-mail notifications and still get them as well.

There's another bug report thread where people who request e-mail notifications aren't getting them and SJHuddler posted:

Yeah, the one you quoted me on isn't related to this.  This is the first I've heard of this particular issue, I'll look into it.  Sorry for lagging here for the past few days, I have been utterly slammed here at work!

This is kind of hard to nail down.

 

What thread are you getting notifications from that you should not be?  I need to be able to cross reference the email with your settings.  What kind of notifications are you getting, immediates or digests?  And how often, just randomly, or consistently?
