First time using a Peltier cooler, need some advice - Page 2

Not to mention there isn't a mounting option yet for the Quad on 2011. But ya, either insulate, and run at 16V (best option) or go with warmer temps.

Thanks for chiming in there, Puck. I take it the meanwell is an auxiliary power supply? Also, what's the QDD and non cotrolled SDD? I'm really new to TEC and Water Cooling, so please don't get angry at my really stupid questions. biggrin.gif

Also, how should I go about installation and insulation?

What block should I get for the TEC cooler and how do I insulate it? And where can I find the 16V aux PSU or is 12V fine?

You can find a 16V Aux PSU from eBay. Here is a 15V. It has a slight adjustable voltage level on it which can probably get you to 16V.

Currently the only block is the single that is capable of working, but mindchill will have to make special holes for the mounting of it, assuming he can (again it was designed for LGA 1155). So that one will be a wait and see. If he can't I guess it'll be time for me to attempt to design a way to front mount the block on a 2011 and possibly others.

I'm fine with waiting, probably won't pull the trigger on this for a few months. Is this worth it or would it be a better idea to just go with an open loop water cooling system?

If I decide to go with TEC, is there anyone who would be able to custom make me a TEC water block?

Thanks for all the help.

That's is what we were talking about with the SDD..."Single direct die". Arqtik makes ready to go TEC assisted waterblocks. Mindchill on here makes them, and I run one of them myself modded for 775.
