RMAing my GTX 670?

Sadly, I think my ASUS GTX 670 dcII 4gb needs to be RMA'ed, but I wanted to run it by you guys just in case any of you guys should ever encounter or have encountered this nuisance. Please comment:

This all started when I was doing some benchmarking (I think). I wasn't pushing the card hard at all, just a bit offset on the core. Suddenly my screen just goes black and there's a message which says: " no input signal", the computer then restarts itself, but there still isn't any signal on the monitor. So I have to manually turn it off and on. When I get to the desktop, a message about a bluescreen pops up, I can't give the exact details, but I know that atleast the bccode is 116, which supposedly has something to do with the graphics card. This keeps happening while running heaven and playing Battle Field 3, in both overclocked and stock settings. I then try to roll back to previous drivers without deleting the old ones, but the same thing happens again. I then try to reinstall the drivers with cleaning the system for drivers and using driver cleaner afterwards. Now when I try to install the drivers, the drivers can't find a compatible hardware unit.

I then go ahead and reformat the whole computer, it doesn't solve anything, the same thing occurs.

You guys think I should RMA the card, or do you have any better ideas?

Thanks for any replies!

You did a complete reformat and it still doesn't work properly. What else can you do but RMA...?

I have a gigabyte 670 at home, I might try using it just to make sure that it's not something else.

I also have a spare PSU and motherboard here so I'll test those out too:)

Well, I just tested my AX850 and the same thing happens, guess it's RMA'ing time, hope they find the issue, or else I have to pay like 50$ or something.

Just tried my dads gigabyte 670, and it's as stable as my card was at first.... but oh god, I love the overclocking potential of the gigabyte!!!:O currently @ 1293 max boost, haven't touched the ram though.

I would RMA. I had to RMA mine after I got a BSOD while playing some bf3, and trying to reboot gave me the "no vga" beep code from my mobo.

By the way, I would highly suggest doing advanced RMA if you can. I didn't since I was moving to a dorm for college and didn't know how the mailing system was set up yet, but it took a whole month before I got my new card. Was stuck on my trusty old gtx260 for the time it was gone. tongue.gif

Good luck with the RMA, I'm trying to do the advanced RMA option where they send you a new card instead of try to "repair" the one you send in. So far, 2 weeks, no luck yet. Don't even know if they have a DCII 670 in stock! If nothing by tomorrow after work I'm canceling the RMA and returning to newegg for a full refund. My card flat out doesn't work after bringing it back from sleep mode. HDMI port flickers the screen like mad when you bring it back from sleep mode. 580 works rock solid when I change it out...fail for asus

I think I'll try advanced RMA, if I can. Should I RMA with ASUS or the vendor I got it from? I live in Norway, so RMA'ing is a bit different I guess. Don't know if I want the same card, so I might just send it back to the vendor and beg for a full refund.
