Intel 3960X, cause yeah performance catagory. Only thing that will beat it is the Intel 3970X that they will release next month.

The 3930K does everything the 3960X can at half the price.

If you think that the 3960X is the best, you're fooling only yourself.

No, these are NOT outdated chips. They'll be around a long, long time. New motherboards are continually being developed and marketed for these CPU's.

Both 3930k and 3960X use sandy bridge(2nd gen) architecture, they were released a bit earlier than ivy bridge (3rd gen), difference is that the sandy bridge - extreme line is faster in heavily threaded apps/benchmarks due to having 6 cores/12 threads, while ivy has a higher performance per core.
