No it works on the same phase so going from your bedroom to the kitchen even if they are on two different circuit breakers it works. I would assume the only exception would be if you had a physically separate electrical box which came off the primary or if you had additional service coming in. IE: an apartment complex.

So After going into the attic (friend did), was able to drill hole down through beam almost all the way through until a "squishy point"??? Where he had to go down into a spacer to run cable to a coax outlet in same living room... Sadly enough couldn't get through... So.... have had to go the mini white plastic clips with their respective nails to run along ceiling edge... Just got it to my office, and running it around 3 shelves, desk, then into router... oi...
