12.11 vs 310.33

**Just updated with the latest 310.54 driver.

I got an pm from Junkboy asking to compare my two rigs since I run both 7970s and a 680.


Both cards clocked to 1300 core and 1750 memory (7000 effective). The 680 is actually running slightly higher clocks, 1305/1752 -ish. Systems are very close, almost identical in the most respects, SSD RAID 0, 16GB Samsung wonder ram @ 2133 (same timings), watercooled cpu/gpu/vrm, etc...

3930k is limited to 4 cores. I ran cinebench to confirm performance is the same. They should be since it's the same IPC. After running cinebench, I have to barf a little when I think about how much two cores costs in relation to the 3820 lol.

**I had to run the 7970 at 1295/1750 on 12.11 whilst using Afterburner. AB cannot feed as much voltage at that clock to the 7970 and 12.11 betas are finicky as all get out. Nv drivers really are a set it and forget type of experience. It's such a contrast.

EVGA Superclocked 2GB on water. I added links to the 3dmark results.

I knew the 7970 would win 3dmark, and the 7970 has always taken Heaven, though the Heaven gap is a lot smaller with a nice overclock. But Batman and Sleeping Dogs surprised me. I'm not an Nv expert since I spend all my time on my quadfire. All I did on the Nv rig was install the new driver reboot, double check with AB and set the clocks for the test. If there's something else I should do, let me know. The system is very stable and mature I have to say. The 1300/7000 overclock is 24/7 stable btw.
