My vote goes to a 2500k since you can find 'em pretty cheap used, as someone else mentioned.

Voted for the 3770k as it's a bit better then the 2700k clock-for-clock but it features a better IGP, IMC and PCI-E 3.0 along with a few other features of Z77 boards. It also uses a bit less power in comparison.
The only problem with them is the thermalpaste..

A much better value option for 80% of people though is a 3570k, but a 2500k gets an honourable mention as it's a very good chip with the price you can pick them up for now.
