That Intel you linked is pretty good, you should have no problems with it. I wouldn't worry at all about it taking the power away from your CPU.

As long as it has all the features you need, you should be good to go.

nah, but its a realtek and i've read they don't handle the load of games when there are many players on the map well. Figured I would try an intel maybe, but I'm interested to know if there are any that use a processor as opposed to being software based.

that intel one you linked will do the trick but there are alot of good NICs out there.. the beauty about NIC cards is the network protocol processing is handled by the NIC instead of the system CPU..

also be sure to get PCIe card as PCI arent that good smile.gif

Yeah they do, hard to find, but I found one on ebay, killer 2100 for 45 bones. Bought it just to tinker with it, I know there are naysayers, but I'd like to see for myself. Don't know much about networking, but I like the idea that it sends packets more often and without waiting for a response which leads to better hit detection, who knows could be snake oil, but for 45 bones I'm willing to try.

Intel NIC's are great, read the reviews of the one you linked. :P Killer NIC's are a waste in my opinion.
