We can't negotiate roundabouts in this contry with out driving into one another. When most Americans are behind the wheel, there are usually two or three things that are higher on the priority list than driving. Nobody knows how to read road signs so this technology would be wasted here.

americas roads suck for two reasons. first, american's hate investing in infrastructure.

1. we want everything to be privatized and individualized. so a lot of times we don't do things for this reason, even if it would benefit society as a whole

2. americans have the idiotic system where we use trucks to ship most things. this is ridiculous, dangerous to other drivers (massive trucks are dangerous) and absolutely wrecks the roads. we need to invest in rail, both for public and commericial transport

QFT!

I personally think that American politicians should fight the urge to cater to their Union campaign contributors and pass a law that outlaws "coast to coast trucking" and limit 18-wheelers from hauling loads over 36,000 pounds (ie what most Class C licenses can do) over 120 miles. 120 miles is far enough to take a load to a rail head or air port and properly transport it across the country.

Not only would it save on our road, but it would make them safer. But we all know that will never happen. wink.gif

That would put so many people out of jobs though it's unreal. But to be honest I don't have a better solution. Our country is an absolute mess, top to bottom.

That's incorrect. Major parts of highways in the province Limburg don't have it. You drive in complete darkness, and even with other cars around, it's can be very dangerous. I know this because I live there.
