HTPC Cases

CM Elite 120A:

The Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced is an ultra compact case with support for Full Size High-End Desktop components. Other than conventional Mini ITX cases, the Elite 120 Advanced supports more affordable, quiet, efficient and easily available Full Size ATX PSU. It can accommodate even the largest Ultra High-End VGAs, a 5.25” optical drive and up to 5 HDDs or SSDs. Thanks to a smart airflow system featuring 2 pre-installed fans it manages to still keep the system cool and quiet. Topped off with a stylish brushed aluminum front, this is a compact case you don’t want to hide.

SilverStone GD07:

The SilverStone Grandia GD07 case ushers in a new era of home theater computing like never before. For the first time, the power and storage capacity of a server can now be neatly stowed beautifully and quietly in a home theater environment. Completely reengineered to fully utilize all available spaces, the Grandia GD07 can accommodate an incredible amount of drives (up to eleven) and high-end components (graphics cards up to 13.6 inches long) with minimal sacrifices. It is even possible to fit SSI EEB (12” x 13”) extended ATX motherboards in the GD07 despite maintaining an exterior dimension similar to SilverStone’s previous generation full-size HTPC cases.

Bitfenix Prodigy:

Meticulously crafted and beautifully engineered, Prodigy redefines the Mini-ITX chassis. The compact housing is suspended by handles made with BitFenix FyberFlex Composite for easy portability and maximum shock absorption. On the inside, the modular FlexCage gives you the flexibility to install up to five 3.5" hard disks or 2.5" SSDs, or remove it entirely to fit up to 240mm watercooling radiators and long graphics cards. For added flexibility, additional SSD locations are also included, and a choice of Midnight Black or Arctic White with interchangeable front facades mean Prodigy will suit your individual style. With tool-free convenience, two USB 3.0 ports, filtered intakes, and unique BitFenix SofTouch Surface Treatment, Prodigy is the compact case with no compromises.

Fractal Design Node 605:

The Node 605 highlights a minimalistic, sleek Scandinavian appeal which is designed to integrate into your home theatre equipment.
Featuring a stunning exterior appearance accompanied by a modern, black interior with sound and vibration dampening materials, the Fractal Design Node 605 supports a full ATX motherboard as well as a graphics card up to 280mm in length.

Moneual MonCaso 972:

A state-of-the-art media center is entitled to an equally state-of-the-art Home Theater PC case. MonCaso HTPC cases come in an elegant full-aluminum chassis that exudes quality and style that complements, not clashes, with your living room aesthetic. With expandable storage space and full compatibility with all Windows Operating Systems, MonCaso HTPC cases are peerless in functionality, as well as in design.

Lian LI PC-C60:

The whole home theater PC trend seems to be at a standstill because of the huge surge in media player sales. However, there are many things which a good home HTPC system can do but a media player cannot. Can you play games on a media payer? No. Can you browse the internet on a media player? Not most, as a few can like the D-Link Boxee. Can you post your life away on Facebook and Google Plus? Nope. This is just a short list of things a good HTPC system can do that are simply not in either the hardware, or software, capabilities of a media player.

It does look nice, but as someone that has one as well as PC-C60 from Lian Li... there is no contest in person IMO. The Lian Li case has a much better finish and the cooling layout and drive capacity/options are second to none in this form factor. On the other hand if it's for a media SERVER - I'd definitely go with the Silverstone case. The 17"+ depth is what is really a con as far as looking at home in a rack.

I question the BitFenix case even being in this group - not that it wouldn't make a decent HTPC... but then again so would an 800D (or any other PC case for that matter). Regardless it doesn't belong here as far as I'm concerned.

Gotta for with the Lain Li the horizontal design is very desirable so it fits in your entertainment center. Prodigy is way too big for an HTPC.
Going to throw my vote in for the 120. Not only does it take a full size ATX, it's arguably the smallest footprint of the bunch. The Moncaso would be cool, but it's pricetag in Canada (>$500) means it's in a league of it's own.
