The patent won't hold in court, there is too much prior art. The patent is basically a waste of money on their part.

We need to go Inception on this. We should patent the idea of patenting the idea of being Apple and patenting things that other people have done before you.

For instance, Google create Google Maps and naturally progress this onto Smartphones. We're Apple and we don't have a Maps technology and won't buy a company that does for another 3 years minimum, so what we do is we apply to patent your technology before you do, then work on our own Maps technology. Once the patent is passed we sue the pants off you and force your legitimate and superior product into the midst. What we need ot do as non-Apple guys is patent the idea of being Apple and patenting that, AND patent the idea of patenting that patent while that patent is in the works so we have full patent control of the patenting process.

Comments like these make me wonder about the human population. Yes, the patent office needs to be blamed and fixed but Apple needs to be held accountable for blatantly taking advantage of a corrupt system. A company in the position that Apple is in should be the first one to speak up about the issue in order to set an example. What they are doing is showing the world they don't care about anyone and would rather steal everything they can to patent and control it which will stiffle innovation and competition.
