Hey guys,
Over in CA on my grandma's PC that's running 9.04. I need to update to 9.10 in order to update to 10.04 so I can do my homework. I've got the alternate.iso mounted via gmount into cdrom. I boot up the terminal, type "sudo bash" to get root access, then type in "cd /media/cdrom" in the terminal, then "sh ./cdromupgrade" to begin the upgrade, and it gets going, asks if I want to use the internet to get the latest update, I select no because it won't update from 9.04 to 10.04, it keeps going, then says it failed to add the CD. Even with the -x switch someone told me to add, it did the same thing. It says "Package files are missing, perhaps this is not a correct ubuntu disc or wrong architecture?" And something tells me it's the wrong architecture. i386 is in the file name, and when I tried installing google chrome on this system, i386 was said to be incorrect architecture in that case as well.
Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!
EDIT:
I figured maybe I had a bad download, I deleted the iso file, re-downloaded it, same issue occured and there were no issues with the connection at all during the download. I'm really lost.
