Nvidia capability: Eyefinity and HD audio

I'm considering upgrading my graphics card. ATI's been my go-to choice because of Eyefinity and audio support. What's the current state of Nvidia display surround and HDMI audio? At one point while ATI had full HDMI surround audio, Nvidia had compressed only above two channels and was not as robust. I also understood Nvidia surround to be immature. What's the current state? Would I experience any problems if I upgraded to Nvidia? Can anyone running either or both of these setups confirm that they work properly? I'm using 3 24" IPS monitors connected via displayport, and an Onkyo receiver with 5.1 speakers for audio.

Does Nvidia surround work with vsync? Crossfire doesn't, which is a problem.

Surround doesn't have any major issues that eyefinity doesn't.

Its fine for me at 5760x1080. As long as the game supports that res (and variations of it) you'll be fine (if the game doesn't support it check widescreen gaming forum, they might have a fix). You just won't be able to do more than 3screens with nvidia. If you encounter problems at that res, eyefinity will most likely have the same issues. I also haven't had problems with vsync on 2way or 3way sli

Can't speak for HD audio though..
