Turbo Core question

i found my stable overclock now im curious about turbo core seems like a good feature to use if you use too much power or thermals it down clock you to ensure you don't overheat bascially

anyway my question is i am overclocked to 4.5ghz stable and when i swich things around and use turbo core i only downclock using prime95 or IBT att 100% loads which makes sense its making sure the cpu doesn't overheat and draw over its power limit.

if I run heaven benchmark where i can see up into the 80% load my cpu never downclocks and says at 60c or below

so does that mean heaven doesn't use all for cores and thats why i don't have downclock, or is it simply based on if the cpu has 100% usage?

i have them set to the stock 77 watts and 114amps

here is what i found if i use p95 or IBT it downclocks up down up down. but during BF3, crysis, MW3 and counter strike. it never downclocks. also does not downclock during cinebench eaith when its at 100% load, so now i know it has nothing to do with loads. i think it is how much power cpu is drawing and temps. i just don't know what temps it downclocks at. anyway as of now i don't know why everyone wouldn't use this feature to prevent excess heat it seems to be almost like a failsafe way since nothing i use downlclocks it unless it is pushing it to its limits which is only a benchmarking program i use only to make sure the overclock is stabe 24/7 which is what i did. than i left everything the same and turned back on turbo boost and am liking it so far

bumb bumb,..bumb it up ..lol

it doesnt downclock at specific temps,
only when its reaches max temps, at 102C-105C

the downclocking or turbo on the other hand, has to do with what speed/power the computer
needs at any given moment, games like bf3 make (good) use of the cores,
but dont load 100%, mine while playing bf3 load about 35-45%..

also, they made the chips like this, to save energy,
to give only higher speeds when needed, and "sleep" when its idle..

cinebench loads cores 100%, so should prime and ibt ,
so i dont understand what you mean with it downclocks during prime/ibt,
maybe im reading wrong ..idk smile.gif

im running 4.6-4.7ghz, but make use of the powersavings, C1, and EIST, C3/C6 disabled
so mine downclocks to 1600mhz when idle..
