Need help finding a file hosting script.

Thread Starter
Hello all,

I am in search of a file hosting script. I have seen many but a lot of them look dodgy. I am trying to find one like megaupload or mediafire (no I am not looking for clones). If you know any that look more professional please tell me.

Thanks in advanced

Roll your own...

Not too hard, in it's most basic form it's just a HTML form, a POST and a little bit of PHP.

This might be what you're after http://www.w3schools.com/php/php_file_upload.asp

Just make sure to sanitise any inputs (to protect from XSS/SQL injection) and for binary files you might want to have some sort of virus scan on the server.

Don't roll your own unless you know 100% what you are doing (ignore this if this is not for production use - though you still need to follow what is to follow). You need to get EVERYTHING right - permissions, mimetype and file extension checking/restriction. SQL injection protection is not required unless you are talking to a SQL database (plausible on a complicated system, doubtful for simple file uploads). Of course you should still sanitize input. It doesn't take much to slip up and compromise the server.

I've been through this one and it looks fairly good: http://sourceforge.net/projects/openupload/

^ that. Even for non-production use, I wouldn't recommend rolling your own.

Dropbox and Google Drive do everything the OP has requested based on what little information he has provided.
