Need help overclocking FX-6300, am I doing it right?

Thread Starter
So got to play a little tonight with my new 6300. Kinda stunned I just randomly set multi to 4.3GHz and vcore to 1.38v so far going good I keep raising little by little and so far no BSOD.

My questions are:

1.how can I OC dynamically? having the speed throttle itself up or down, like using offset on Intel.

2. What features or setting should I be disabling or enabling in bios?

3. Max safe temp and vcore for 24/7 use?

Thanks guys for any advice.

I wouldnt overclock too much on that motherboard. having 4.3GHz is a good overclock!

That motherboard has tiny VRM Heatsinks. VRMs get hot when you increase cpu voltage.

Disable CPU Spectrum, Cool'n Quiet and any powersaving feature.¨

As for the temps i wouldnt go over 60-65 (cpu temp not core) in hw monitor. Many say you shouldnt go over 55 Celsius but i have never had any chips dying from getting hotter than 55 (i take no responsibility).

Also you dont really have to care too much about cpu voltages uness it heats up your vrms or cpu too much.

? They should be fine. You don't see any failures on this board in the vrm stickys

Worst case scenario it will throttle.

What are you talking about? i was just told to be careful with VRMs and make sure they're cold.

Thanks to those helping. As for my board its fine. I know all about vrms and mosfets. Yes its a low phase but its a quality one so should be fine as long as I monitor temps.

Anyways. Got to 4.6ghz last night at 1.42 but failed after stress testing. Gonna boot up this morningvwith 1.44v I think. So what about llc? There is only enable and disable.

And as always I been using prime to test this good for amd cpus?
