Anyways. Got to 4.6ghz last night at 1.42 but failed after stress testing. Gonna boot up this morningvwith 1.44v I think. So what about llc? There is only enable and disable.
And as always I been using prime to test this good for amd cpus?

LLC Should be set to very high to avoid too much variation on volts. also you MIGHT be able to boot at 4.5ghz with 1.4V.

Keep LLC to 22% or anything else closer to that. For 4.6Ghz you need 1.46v, try that. As far as your mobo goes, not really a concern as your chip is a 95 TDP chip but if you want you can keep a fan over the vrms.

Holy jesus do you even read my posts? I said I already booted into windows at 4.6 but failed after stress testing. Also, I said again in my post that LLC only has enabled and disabled.

Not trying to sound like a jerk but your knowledge seems to be lacking and or you don't read my posts, which is not helpful. Again sorry for coming off rude but, kinda annoying when people try to give advice while ignoring OP posts.

Anyways progress so far is I went from stable at 4.4GHz at a low vcore of 1.38 to needing 1.47v for 4.6GHz. keep getting 3b bsod code wich if memory serves is vcore when ocing.

0x101 = increase vcore
0x124 = increase/decrease vcore or QPI/VTT...have to test to see which one it is
0x0A = unstable RAM/IMC, increase QPI first, if that doesn't work increase vcore
0x1E = increase vcore
0x3B = increase vcore
0xD1 = QPI/VTT, increase/decrease as necessary
0x9C = QPI/VTT most likely, but increasing vcore has helped in some instances
0x50 = RAM timings/Frequency or uncore multi unstable, increase RAM voltage or adjust QPI/VTT, or lower uncore if you're higher than 2x
0x116 = Low IOH (NB) voltage, GPU issue (most common when running multi-GPU/overclocking GPU)
0x1a = Memory Management

Thanks for helping jason. +rep

So heres what I got for now, 4.6GHz at 1.48v C-states and power saving crap off. Purely by adjusting multiplier for now. not bad, so far I am having fun with this chip, much more of a journey than OCing my 3570k. biggrin.gif

So I will stress with prime and post back.

Any other ideas are still welcome, and also any way to OC on this chip using offset type of overclocking?

Okay i read all the posts and here is what i got to say.

Try to experiment with the FSB. Some chips dont like too low FSB or too high FSB. Try around 210-220 and lower multiplier (got no idea what you got right now) this might increase stability and let you lower your cpu voltage.

Well I am at a loss here. I have found two problems OCing here. If I go above 4GHz two workers will fail in prime, unless I pump them with more vcore. For 4.3GHz I need 1.4v and I have to turn LLC off, at 100% load vcore jumps to 1.45v

If I enable LLC vcore droops too low during load and I get a freeze. Seems a combination of two problems, bad vdroop on this board and two cores/modules are just not going to OC that well. Right now I seem to be stable at 4.3GHz 1.4v LLC off.

Temps right now are a huge problem as the cores will throttle down cause temps under prime approach 69c.

Im lost right now and kinda wanna scrap this whole computer and jump back on my IVY build. redface.gif
