Oh yeah definitely. But temps were just too much. I can run benches for people at that speed, and plan on doing a review thread showcasing what it can do.

Yeah and i think temps are holding you back from overclocking further. Even though at 4.6Ghz it's needing more vcore, i think if temps were less 1.47v would have been 24/7 stable

no sound card.
Im sure temps are holding me back but I believe because they are not using 3d transistors heat wont effect vcore that bad. I could be misquoting though. Anyways I don't wanna sink to much into the rig as Ill be probably jumping back to Intel, unless steamroller offers more fun. Lets hope so I have been on Intel too long and like to try new things.
Its not a bad chip, but I am just disappointed that the old thubans still out score me in benchmarks.

I've noticed that while stress testing if you listen to music or watch a movie it may crash even when those clocks were stable when you tested it without listening to music. My point here is that if you have a sound card you need a lower vcore. I know it sounds really funny. But it's something like when overclocking you gpu an cpu nb volts increases the overclocking threshold of the gpu.

Ok so I locked down the problem. Looks like a semi bad seat on the HSF. I redid paste and position of HSF, dropped temp a good amount.
Now my Max OC while sticking with in thermal safe zones is 4.4GHz on 1.37v Temp in prime gets maxed at 65c not bad considering cheap cooler.
The only problem I am having now if the VRMs are getting hot and throttling my CPU. I know its not the CPU cause I have watched it and it only throttles at 69c. the board I am using has heatsinked VRM's but I am wondering if I can get an aftermarket vrm HS that will cool it better along with a spot fan? Until I decide if its worth getting better board.

Active cooling for your VRM area will make a big improvement.
You might consider mx2 for your VRMs instead of the stock thermal pads as well. I don't think you would notice a significant improvement with going to aftermarket VRM heatsinks. Try adding a fan and paste first.

I plan in this same cpu and board soon, seems like some active cooling will be needed. Good thing I have more fans than I can count. Did the cpu work out if the box (no bios flashing - what bios was stock?)?

Well its important to note that with a traditional aftermarket tower style cooler, or with watercooling for that matter, very little air is directed over the VRM area. With a downdraft style cooler (like the stock cpu cooler) this would be less of an issue.

You point is well-taken. Essentially, you need a closed loop water cooler like a Corsair H60 or Antec 620 to really start to play with the FX-chips properly. Obviously, a custom water loop will squeeze that last 5-10% more out before you have to resort to more 'exotic' and impractical methods. But on the practical side, my Antec 620 was only $60, so it's not really a valid complaint to say it's too expensive to cool an FX chip fairly well.
