I'm still holding out hope though. I plan on trying some other game modes tonight, hopefully I can find something I can enjoy. Otherwise I'm selling it.

Play slayer pro or hope MLG makes a playlist with things done right. Slayer pro is without the perks.

I'm just glad that the reputaion the game already has isn't damaged by 343; and even happier that the game seems better off with it.

I have to admit, after reading you people swoon over this game, I really want to play it. The problem is I've never played a halo game, ever. I guess I feel like I kind of missed the boat. Would I still have a good experience with it being so new to the series?

Personally i think you really would need to start from one; if you're relatively good at FPS games it'll take less than 10 hours to pass all of the games, probably a lot less time considering that one isn't a very long game when powered through, and three can be done really quickly.

The thing is, it is not my opinion. There's a reason why it got high reviews and it is popular. It obviously is doing something good.
You're only seeing 30 frames every second, instead of 60 or more.

Also the game runs at 720p...The average monitor size is at least 1680x1050. Again, another example of seeing less. Although this doesn't apply so much to the mouse vs controller debate.

If he is talking about multiplayer only, just hop right in. If you're interested in the story mode, play 1-3, Reach, 4.

It'll take a good bit longer than just 10 hours to go through Reach, 1, 2, and 3's campaigns while taking it all in. Why even play it if you are just going to rush through? I'd save 3 or 4 days to take your time going through the campaigns. They are all pretty good IMO.

If you're just playing to get to 4 then you can rush through, i don't advise it so much though. If you're not skipping cinematics and paying attention to dialogue then it should be easy enough to grasp. And they're all excellent games, it's worth taking the time if you've never played before, if you're refreshing your memory then rushing it's proba ly a better option.
