[IGN] Halo 4 scores a 9.8/10 - Page 30

So I find playing the multiplayer now to be a joyless endeavor.

It's just stupid the way that now higher levels get better guns and perks. I was fine with this style, when I was under the assumption that it would pit people of similar level and skill against each other. Now today, after not playing for 2+ weeks, I've seen firsthand that the matchmaking system is pure garbage. I am level 22. I was playing with my girlfriend who is level 20. We never faced anyone who was below level 39. Half of the games we played, was against 4-man organized teams that just steamrolled our side because the two teammates we got stuck with (different people nearly every time) would rush blindly into a group of 4 and supposedly just hope for the best. The entire time playing I was just going through the motions, and wanted to turn it off for at least the final 4 matches I played tonight.

I'm thinking about trading it in and getting Black Ops 2. At least then I know I'm going to get steamrolled every match and there's no trying to hide it by the game... and I can do it with friends too since nobody I know outside of my girlfriend has Halo 4, and nearly everyone in the world has Black Ops 2.

Note: I know player rank has no relation to skill level, which is obvious since I didn't lose every match... it still doesn't change the fact they have an advantage, and that each match was boring.

hmmm sorry but about the multiplayer "upgrades" it is barely anything important as by the level of 10-20 I was pretty much set and done. Everything after that is a fun bonus.

As for team play....haha good luck finding that on BO2 - that's all I'm going to say.

I know this... that's why I mentioned the bit about the real difference between the games being able to play with more friends.

And even with my rant, if my girlfriend was ready to play more Halo 4 right now, I'd do it without hesitation... I don't get it, but for whatever reason, even with as frustrated as I get with games, I still want to play those same games. I get frustrated to hell and back with MW2 (and Black Ops 1), but when those were the current games, I would play them day in and day out, get frustrated probably half the time, rage quit, and then come back to it 2 hours later. I think I have a problem... lol.

And with Halo 4, it's not really the guns, so much as it's just the crappy teammates I get stuck with, and going against 4-man parties. The guns+perks is just adding to the problem and as such frustrates me. If I had actually even matches, I likely wouldn't give a second thought about others having unlocked guns or something that I don't have.

DMR is pretty much all I use. AR when I'm on small maps and I feel like rushing. Though when it comes down to it, your teammates trump any armor ability/'perk'/gun.

One way you can help out your team is to call out any enemies you see and their location. I found when others did that it was extremely helpful.

Well, see, I'm a very vocal rager when it comes to games, so I prefer to not use voice chat lol. My girlfriend and I just sit in a private chat and get frustrated together, without the teammates being able to hear our rage. I assume it's probably better that way haha! My friends on the PC laugh at me and my rage when we're playing games while in a Skype call since there's no Push-To-Talk.

I know what you mean man - I actually said "enough is enough" with black ops 1 and battlefield 3 - I sold bo1, and actually mad ea cheeky profit of it (even after 1 month of gameplay! haha) and haven't touched bf3 in over 1-2 months (even though i have it both on pc and xbox, where xbox has premium and I have access to aftermath) - just pisses me off.

I have to say AR for me is a new thing- I've been using it a lot more often now, especially like you on smaller maps.
Although....that suppressor is SO MUCH FUN TO USE, especially in maps like haven!

you need to enjoy gaming bro -maybe try taking it a little easier.
I too take gaming a bit too seriously, and that's why now I game less, or game on games that make me rage less, like borderlands 2 and halo smile.gif

It tends to be fast-paced FPS games (mainly COD series and Halo) and some sports games... like Madden. Most games don't do it to me. I think it's the super-competitive nature of those games.

Anyone have any opinions on the Halo 4 Crimson Map Pack?

Worth it or not?
I was thinking of getting the 2,000MS pass. Not really sure if I should...
