AMD X6 1090T replacement?

Thread Starter
It has been over a year since i last checked the AMD-cpu market. I currently have my 1090T running at 3.9, and if i want, i can go 4ghz+.

Is there any good replacement for this AMD-CPU if money was no object?

I want it to handle a CS:GO or SC2 stream with high res and high fps. smile.gif

There is nothing currently that AMD offers that is so much better then your current cpu.

You're still set in the cpu department for a couple more years imo.

I would take a 1090T over AMD's current offerings any day of the week.

At least for gaming, you don't want to upgrade to amd's current offerings. If you can overclock past 4ghz, go for it. You can also try and upgrade your video card, I think your cpu at 4ghz+ could handle a card up to a 7970 without there being a bottleneck.

What about a good clock on a AMD FX-8350 8-Core? Its stock 4ghz. I think i could sell my current cpu for 2/3 of the price of a new FX-8350. Im getting some wierd lags using xplits streaming. I have a 6950 unlocked to 6970. I have tried a bunch of settings and guides but nothing seems to work.

This.
And this.

There are many more reviews and threads already started on this, it would probably be more informative to just find some of them.

P.S. I wouldn't take an X6 over an 8350. I would just go to Intel. BUT, if you already have an AM3+ board, it wouldn't be worth the cost to switch.

If you do upgrade make sure its a 8350 cause the FX-6300 is garbage in comparison to the thuban.

^ Um... no

The 6300 outdoes the 1090T at stock [LINK]. Not by a lot, but this can change with further overclocking (3.5Ghz -> 5Ghz vs 3.2Ghz -> 4Ghz on average). There will also be a power consumption improvement.

The 6300 is really an 8350 with.... two less cores. I think it's the sweet spot for Piledriver buyers. It shares the overclocking ability of the 8-cores with the single-threaded performance expectations and some of the multithreaded.

no need to go to anything atm
if you really want 8320 is good buy with nice oc potential

i would w8 for steamroller / excavator

i dont think your gonna have a hard time selling that 1090t,there a good chip,,if your not worried about the money go for it ,,,,but dont expect a big jump in performance
