Why not the Iphone 5 only costs $207 to make. They are selling the phone at a HUGE upcost. Even if they offered Motorola $100.00 per phone sold they would of still made huge profits.

16GB iPhone 5 – $649
32GB iPhone 5 – $749
64GB iPhone 5 – $849

Even with Production Costs + the 100 given to moto they would still make great profits on the phone. I wish apple would fall because I will be there to help it collapse. They are nothing but a idea stealing sue fest of a corporation that thinks there products are innovative

16GB iPhone 5 – $649 = $342.00
32GB iPhone 5 – $749 = $442.00
64GB iPhone 5 – $849 = $542.00

I suppose the iPhones grow wings and fly all over the world from China by themselves, and the people working in the Apple stores do it for free. rolleyes.gif

If you don't understand how businesses work, please don't try and say how much profit they are making.

And what about all the other costs? They need to pay for other things as well.

The Apple stores they need to pay
  • Electricity
  • Internet
  • Employees
  • Rent/buy the building

Outside the stores they need to pay for

  • Warehouses
  • Transport (to get hardware to the stores)
  • More employees
  • Postage
  • More electricity
  • More internet
  • Forklifts
  • Servers
  • Web developers
  • Software developers

Realistically they were only making $50-$75 profit on just the iPhones

Oh c'mon dudes, it was a figure of speech I'm sure.

Everyone can see $1 per phone is a piss poor offer.

Hence why I said $50-$75 profit on iPhones and not total.

Well that was more of a statement rather than a figure of speech but I do agree. They should give $3 minimum per phone.

those costs are shared by everything else they el, not just iphones, I'd say maybe take 25-30$ off of the profit for overhead, besides that, they are still making larger margins than almost every company in the world.

Except maybe intel on it's Extreme Edition CPU's thumb.gif

Which I find hilarious because I have seen a couple of people on OCN say they will never buy from Apple because of the profit they make, while having Intel extreme edition CPUs in their sig rigs.
