Hi guys

I am building a new Rig and thinking of trying water cooling on that biggrin.gif but i am new to it and dont know much about it

so here is my build

Corei7 3930k
asus rampage IV extreme
2*GTX 670 FTW 4GB edition
corsair AX1200
16GB vengeance Quad channel
2-4 27-30"monitors
case i have not decided yet because am really confused have seen a lot here in bangkok and really awsome ones but cannot decide as well cannot take with me because of the weight. i live in the middle east.

can you guys please tell me what waterblocks radiators fans and tubes etc should i use for the above system i mean a complete watercooling system the graphics cards the processor the motherboard the ram's and whatever else there is tongue.gif
i went to the koolance website but they are a little out of my budget
for the watercooling i guess i can manage 500$

Shahs - for a first timer I would recommend sticking to a simple cpu cooling only loop. Get your feet "wet" so to speak - no pun intended. I guess the first question to ask is whether you want to go with a closed loop prebuilt kit (think Corsair H100 or similar) or whether you truly want to build your own custom loop.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both. Give us an idea which way you want to go and we can take it from there.

Relative to cost and ease of installation;

Prebuilt closed loop (again think Corsair H100 or similar)
Pre-assembled open loop kit - water pump, radiator, hose, block, reservoir etc. available from numerous suppliers; Danger Den, Swiftech etc.
Build your own - you pick from all the available parts and manufacturers

$500 would be pretty tight to cool all that by the time you get 2 gpu blocks you will be looking at over $200. Cpu $50-75 is pretty normal, $75 for pump is pretty normal. That's $350 with no fittings, fans, res, rads, or tube.

Gonna need to cool less, buy used or expand budget IMO.

^ This. When I built my first loop I had cpu, 2 gpu's, 2 radiators, and after getting fittings, pump, reservoir, tubing, and all the other necessary parts, I was sitting close to $1000. Unless you go with universal gpu blocks, be prepared to spend $100-$150 per gpu for full cover blocks.
General rule of thumb is 240mm of initial radiator space, then an additional 120mm per block after the first. So ideally you'd want at least a 480mm radiator, which will also get up around $75 on the low end, and easily over $100 for a high end radiator.
It's an expensive habit so be prepared to drop some coin. A good starting point though would be an XSPC Raystorm kit. You can then add different parts to make up for what else you need

Shahs - where can you buy from? And personally (I can't stress this enough) start simple and learn the ropes. There are so many things that can go wrong. Some with potentially horrific consequences. Also need to know whether you want the entire loop contained within the PC case or whether you're willing to have some external components (radiator(s) for example).

lol tongue.gif i didn't think it would go that far hahah i am surprised tongue.gif

well i am not going to buy all at once am going to do it step by step means first buy cpu blocks then gpu then ram etc

ok so what do you reccomend only for the cpu the starting stage i would want a external radiator with atleast 2 120-140mm fans and should be UV so i can add some cool glowing water ahha tongue.gif

what are your reccomendations for the radiator blocks and fans ?

Your system isn't going to blow up if you take your time and ask questions when you are unsure.

For a first timer, I'd highly recommend this XSPC Raystom D5 RX360. I'd recommend 3x Gentle Typhoon AP-15s though if you are going to cool 2x 670s and your CPU.

You will need to buy 2 full-cover GPU waterblocks for the GPU and 4 fittings (or some SLI Bridges) to go with the above kit.

However, I don't think $500 is enough for that kit and 2 GPU blocks. You could always buy the kit now, and watercool the GPUs at a later date.

Cheers,

DB

what do you think of the above kit for my CPU

i dont exactly know if it will fit my asus rampage IV extreme with corei7 3930k

and also i noticed while selecting the kit i have to personally select some additionoal stuff at the bottom of the page

That's a good kit. It won't have any problems fitting your motherboard and CPU. The dual pumps would a bit overkill though. A single D5 pump would be more than sufficient.
Fitting size, 1/2" x 3/4" seems to be most popular.
Fitting color is just the finish on the fittings, so either shiny silver or shiny black.
Tubing color is just personal preference.
I wouldn't get any of the coolants, just stick with distilled water and a killcoil.
The radiator accessories are all unnecessary as well.
