Best way to use mic and stand alone head set?

I have a set of denon d600 head phones which use a normal aux cable which could plug into the back of my monitor. I also have the standard xbox 360 wired head set.

The HDMI from the xbox will run to the HDPVR to the back of my monitor, and the aux out is on my monitor too.

I want to get all game and voice chat to go through the denons and use the 360 mic, which I'm not sure if that is possible.

But another thing is I will be recording using a hauppauge HDPVR and didn't know if the chat feed would be recorded too or not if the audio would be running through the denons?

Any recommendations?

I don't want to buy another head set I want to use my own, but I could purchase an additional mic if the standard 360 headset mic won't work with this set up.

Could put the headset around your neck. I do this when I want to use my speakers instead of the earphones built into my headset/mic.

Yes there's an option to run the voice audio through the speakers (your hdmi) on the xbox interface.

Once the stuff arrives, my setup will be an AntLion ModMic, Creative Aurvana Live! headphones, and Astro Mixamp. I've already got the mixamp, but the quality seems a little iffy. I'm just hoping it's the headphones I was using it with... We'll see once the headphones arrive.
